The current economic crisis and associated underlying ecological and social transformations have created a cultural shift in how we think about the relationship between social and economic development. In the United States, our understanding of entrepreneurship is being redefined in more socially-conscience ways. Social innovation has become widely embraced as a critical component in fostering just and workable solutions to increasingly interdependent social, economic, and ecological problems.
The key mission of Social Economy Arizona (SEAZ) is to promote the social economy in the Southwest. Over the past decade, significant progress has been made in generating and disseminating information about the social economy as well as developing collaborative networks regionally, nationally, and internationally. Through this site, we hope to pursue these objectives with a focus on Arizona.
